Not the band from NYC, our new car actually. As car-less for 10 years, it is strange to me to (co)own a car now…we can actually get out of the city now on the weekends. And no more Zipcar!!!
We bought a brand new car last month, I’ve been meaning to post about it. It is both Sarah’s and my first new car purchase; I never would have thought my first new car would have only two pedals. But it has a nice 6 gear triptronic transmission, so it is still loads fun to drive. It came with Sirius, Sarah and I are totally sold on satellite radio.

i’m more than a little bit (ha! watch the video then you’ll see the genius of my joke) in love with this song by lykke li. she’s swedish (i think) and her accent is cute and this song is so good and her album is so good and i like to listen to it while i shelves books (yet again, i work at a library, yeah, i know, you don’t care about my life but i’m going to tell you anyway so just deal with it!). sometimes i have little dance parties at work when i’m shelving and one day a patron (that’s what we call book renters at the library) is going to catch me and i’m going to be way embarrassed. whatever, watch the video.

i hate peta, i seriously do. if you asked me why i really wouldn’t know where to start. i do know that there would be lots of swearing and head shaking, probably paired together. each year they release a really random list of celebrities who happen to be vegetarian so that we, the common people, can vote on their sexiness. the list is typically pretty funny and sometimes surprising - i saw a few people on there that prompted a “who the fuck is that?” and others who got a “holy shit! i never knew insertnamehere was vegetarian!”, i’m not saying that i feel i should be able to sense one of my own i’m just saying that i had no inkling which seems strange cause their should be some sort of secret sign that identifies vegetarians so that their kindred can spot them easily . . . umm, anyhow, check out the list here.

i haven’t really been able to watch the whole video yet since i’m at work and i have to watch things on mute (i work at a library, what do you expect?) and there’s only so long that you can hum the 90210 theme to yourself but i look forward to watching all of this later. it better not disappoint me!

lately i can’t get enough santogold. i don’t know how many times i’ve listened to her album over the past few weeks but it’s been a lot. you should listen to it too!
here’s the video for l.e.s. artistes. it’s not my favorite song on the album but it’s really good and the video is enjoyably odd/fucked up if you stick with it past the equestrian intro.

i started off not liking it but now i’m obsessed. the video has made the obsession even worse cause it’s so random and the singer is so pocket-sized and adorable.

Ok so tonight, me, nick and Aimee are all going to see Highschool musical in theatre. Yipes! Its opening nite and everything. hee hee. I hope they have t shirts for sale. Nick is not looking forward to going. So in tribute to this I’m going to include the hottest song from Highschool muscial 2. I think I might have even put this video on previously since I loves it so much.
My friend Aimee has a cd in her car that she always plays and this is one of the songs on it. This song rocks. I would be very impressed if it made it to your wedding party song list. Though it would probably be just me on the dance floor doing the zac efron moves.

ok so i love this trailer- it makes me sick excited. Though i’m sure you guys don’t give two craps. I love the way Edward looks at the end of the trailer- the way he smiles at Bella. AAAAAck! Oh and I would like to put in a formal request to Sarah to make me an arm cuff that is like Edwards in the last scene before he whisks her away into the trees- doesnt it look like a skull???
My sister and my friend Aimee are also sick excited. I swear i’ve watched this minute thing ten times already. And when i first saw it I called my sister immediatly and we both watched it together on the phone screaming. So good. Yes I’m obsessed but I don’t care.

I’m a big fan of Jason Schwartzman’s newish music endeavor, Coconut Records. I first heard Nighttiming, which definitely made our song list for our party this summer. But after hearing then seeing the video for West Coast on YouTube, I think I have a new favorite.
The video features Mark Gonzales, the creator of street-style skateboarding.
