Keifer is my hero.  I know you have probably seen this, but who wouldn’t want to watch it over and over and over again.  Is it funny every single time or am I just simple minded?  DON’T YOU DARE ANSWER THAT!  I thought Keifer was the shit even before I saw this and now it is just overwhelming.  Now him and Bill Murray might just be the dream team.  Sigh. 

Drunk of the Week-Game Show Edition

Drew Carey, I love you and you will kick ass on The Price is Right, but you will never be Alex Trebek.  That must really depress you.  Here’s another reason to love Alex Trebek (as if you needed another reason):

I don’t really think he is drunk here.  I think he is just being his sassy self.  But just in case, we still bestow him the honor of Drunk of the Week cause he would be a lot of fun to party with. 

Drunk of the Week-NSFW Edition

The governement really needs to step up and address the problem of all these drunk bums. harhar. Somebody needs a serious wax job or at least get some nair on that thing. Fuzz is cute, but fur, not so much. Looks like he had a good time though and that matters more than the embarassment of having your naked ass posted all over the internet and ridiculed for it’s unsightly overgrowth. Or not.

Britney Obsession Peaks at VMA Performance

Who does not want to talk about this shit? I couldn’t believe that performance. I was awestruck, maybe not so much in a good way, but awestruck. Here are the theories on why it was so painful to watch:

1/ She was drugged up

2/ She had spent the last few nights partying and was all hungover and beat

3/ One of her heels broke

4/ She just hadn’t rehearsed enough

5/ She saw herself on the screens and thought she looked fat and had a self-esteem related meltdown right then and there

6/ She had a mini nervous breakdown from the pressure of her comeback moment

I am going to go with all 6 personally. I don’t know about the heel thing though, but it is possible. It didn’t break right off, but I have had boots like hers where the heel cracked loose at the back and would wobble and sometimes kick forward if you were dancing. Hmmm. So maybe. What’s your guess?

This little feature is as late as puberty was for me.  I am still waiting by the way.  No, not really.  Anyway, here is a wonderful opportunity to explore yourself in a different way than you might on a lonely Friday night when Doogie Howser comes on.  Wait, what?  Nothing.  Just do this quiz and shut the hell up. 

Finally a Talented “Carey”!

No, I don’t mean Drew, Mariah or even Jim. I am talking about local Hip-Hop Poet Marlon Carey (aka Inphynit).

Let me explain. Jay and I were out for a few drinks last week and stumbled/biked upon a poetry reading in the basement of the fabled Cantab lounge in Cambridge (the Cantab made an appearance in The Departed, I think). It turns out it was some event called the Boston Poetry Slam.

I paid the cover without noticing it was a poetry reading, and a room full of hipsters. We grabbed a beer and sat down, trying not to make too much noise with our clanking messenger bags (friggen seatbelt-style buckle) still attached to our backs. Carey hit the stage and started belting the words. We were really impressed. He had great flow as he went through his set. I talked to him afterward and even bought a CD.

The next day, when the nightly fog wore off, I listened to the CD and found he really is good, really.

There isn’t too much of him on the internets, but I did find this YouTube video.

I really like three of the poems on his CD “There Is No Plan, Be”: The Bra Song, P Poem and Dorchester. I don’t know if you can get a copy, but I’ll post up an MP3 or something…someday, maybe.

Drunk of the Week-Wednesday Special
