If you love your iPod, dress it in designer fashion

February 16, 2007 by youmybabydaddy

Every iPod deserves something good to wear. It’s gotta be comfy, functional and maybe a little bit fashionable. I’ve been shopping again and thought I might take you with me in the hunt for the perfect case. Check out these duds that will make your iPod the happiest little gadget out there.

I think these might be a little on the pricey side with all being around or over $200 US other than the Coach one which can be bought on eBay for around $60 US and is no longer available on the Coach website. Not much to these, pretty plain. I’d love the Gucci if I wasn’t such a cheapskate.

This is a more interesting selection of unknowns. I think we are looking at high price tags here too. I think I would be embarassed to carry the two lower ones.

Classic Louis Vuitton. Thought this one worked for the menses. Another pricier selection so you better be a label whore to invest in this puppy.

Some cheaper options from Roxy all around $30 US on eBay. Cute, but mostly for nanos only. Boooooo!

Another girlie Louis Vuitton. Can’t afford that one. Next!

Coach has a lot of options on eBay for various prices, but only the last one on the right is still available on the Coach website, with a nano version too. They are $88 US new.

These are from a company called Debris that has lots of other cute designs on their site with varying prices for all different models. Check them out here.

So if your iPod is looking a little naked to you right now and you love it like it’s your first child. Who am I kidding it is better than a damn child. Who wants one of those anyway? This thing doesn’t wake you up at night and need to be fed and stuff. In fact just because of all the happiness it brings to you and the fact that it doesn’t do all those things stinky, rotten, demanding children do, think of treating it to a little clothing.

Yet another reason why I am getting a Mac next time around

Steve Jobs is the man.  He knows what we want from technology and how companies can always come up with innovative solutions to make a profit.  He also seems to know when those so-called innovative solutions have so many shortfalls that they aren’t even worth the effort.  I didn’t know much about DRM until people started complaining about Windows Vista and here are some deets if you are just as clueless as me.  Speaking of digital music, have I mentioned that I miss my iPod?

An obituary for my iPod

April 2004-February 2007

When you were given to me I treated you as if you were my first child. I loved you, I protected you and now I have let you down. You practically died in my arms, but in reality you died in the holder I bought just for you as I left you in my freezing cold car for nights on end. We have so many memories together, never-ending road trips, days at the beach, parties where you DJed despite people complaining that I have crap music (even though I most definately do not) and requesting that I play more Beyonce or something just as repulsive. I will never forget you my little mini. I can now say that I have loved and I have lost greatly. Farewell sweet little iPod of mine.

OH GOD I CAN’T BELIEVE I KILLED MY IPOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If anyone knows how I might revive it please HELP ME! I left it in extremely cold weather like an idiot and now all I get is a little message with a cute little dead iPod on the picture telling me to go to the iPod support site and I tried everything and it isn’t coming back to me. AHHHHHHH! I don’t think I can take this grief. TAKE ME INSTEAD, TAKE MEEEEEEE! Oh Jesus why? Why? A mother isn’t supposed to bury her child, WHYYYYYYY? *Uncontrolled sobbing* Then again, this means it’s time to upgrade to a color screen. Hmmm.

Stylie!

Microsoft Vista = Bad

January 30, 2007 by Brian

Microsoft released Vista yesterday in Times Square with a whole lot of fanfare. Vista attempts to embed DRM (or digital rights management) into the basic operating system. DRM is bad on all sorts of levels, as is locks digital media (movies, music, pictures, etc) by overreaching licensing technology, ignoring the freedom people have to their property.

For instance, imagine if you bought a DVD copy of Short Bus, but could only play it once, or on only one particular DVD player…craziness. An even bigger problem is DRM could prevent future historians and librarians from accessing information. It is just a bad idea. Many artists also hate DRM (like these Canadian ones), as they prevent the adoption of their work, and really just benefit the distributors.

So, enough about DRM (for now). Just don’t purchase Microsoft Vista. Instead find a nice distribution of Linux (like Ubuntu), BSD (like PC-BSD) or even buy a Mac. Or at the very least, throw away Internet Explorer and install Mozilla Firefox.

Paris Hilton is More Popular

January 17, 2007 by Brian

I’m not much into the vicarious celebrity gossip that my co-bloggers here are. But because I believe in science, I figured I would look to see who is more popular (well according to google). Paris wins (oh, I tired Nicole Richey Richie, but she didn’t even blip).

Update : Here is one with Richie. And lucky for society, they are all downward trending!

I don’t really remember a “Windows 386″ product, but after watching this promo, I am sold. Fast forward until the 7-minute mark… and crank up the volume.
